"Seafood of Doom"

Films: Creatures from the Abyss (1994)

Alias: Various, notably the mutant Argyropelecus, Fish-Bobby

Type: Mutant

Location: Haunted home/Ocean

Height/Weight: Ranges from that of average small fish to that of an average human.

Affiliation: Neutral, leaning on Evil

Summary: We've all been there before. A bunch of people investigate a derelict ship, no matter the location, only to find that there's a good reason it was abandoned. In this case, some people took their love of ichthyology way too far.

History: Somewhere in the Atlantic, there is a small yacht where just about no humans dwell. It was once a secret lab meant to test irradiated plankton on fish. But that turned out to be a preposterously bad idea. Now, a bunch of visiting teens are about to find out that some combinations in nature can be controlling, changing, but mostly damn freaky...

Notable Kills: Bobby becomes the uber-mutant as he is screwing a girl he kills.

Final Fate: Bobby is on the rampage as a horrific stone fish/octopus hybrid before the ship gets blown up with him in it. However, some eggs and a few fish survived the ordeal...

Powers/Abilities: These fish can fly, infect/mutate people, and even control their minds.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3-We'll give them this. These fish are rather unpleasant to look at, and often lapse into the kind of horrors you'd expect a very creative taxidermist to contain. But that's just the thing. A lot of these fishy nightmares are a little too stiff to be convincing. The terrifying Fish-Bobby is also portrayed by rather half-hearted stop-motion.

Trivia: -This film was also known as "Plankton", "Object X", "Sea Devils", and oddly, "Piranha 4".

-That condom scene? It took about 40 takes to get right.

It's exactly what you think this is.

"I'm an evolutionary mistake."
I knew those Hatchetfish were onto something! AND THEY ARE!

You eat fish...but what if they want out at the last minute?!

Worst seafood ever. You didn't even freeze them right!

Dr. Otto Octavius really let his research go to his head this time.
